Short Biography: La Piana Associates, Inc., is a consulting firm specializing in mergers or other forms of strategic restructruing for nonprofit organizations. David La Piana, founder of La Piana Associates, Inc., and his staff—including his coauthors Robert Harrington, Michaela Hayes, Liza Culick, William J. Coy, Heather Gowdy, and Kristen Godard—have given dozens of workshops and speeches around the country to national and regional gatherings of funders, nonprofit associations, and nonprofit management consultants. They have also facilitated and studied numerous strategic restructuring efforts, particularly mergers. La Piana is also the author of The Nonprofit Mergers Workbook Part I: Considering, Negotiating, and Executing the Merger, published published by the Amherst H.
