Alfredo Vergara-Lobo
Short Biography: ALFREDO VERGARA-LOBO, principal at Vergara-Lobo Associates, has backgrounds in education, social work, organizational change, and recreation. He brings years of experience with non-profit and public entities to his practice. A popular speaker and presenter, Alfredo has trained and presented to hundreds of audiences throughout the United States and abroad in both English and Spanish. He has consulted with dozens of nonprofit organizations, foundations, and government entities in the areas of strategic planning, board development, strategic partnerships, and cultural competence. An expert in nonprofit partnerships, Alfredo was a funding consultant for the Strategic Solutions project, a national initiative to advance the field of nonprofit partnerships and fine tune knowledge and practice in that area. He has co-authored "The M Word: A Board Member/s Guide to Mergers - How, Why and Why Not to Merge Nonprofit Organizations." Alfredo also co-authored "Crossing Borders, Sharing Journeys: Effective Capacity Building With Immigrant and Refugee Groups." Alfredo has taught in public and private schools the United States and Latin America, and is a guest lecturer for the schools of Social Work and Social Welfare at San Francisco State University and the University of California, Berkeley respectively.
