Tim Brostom Appointed Director of Product Innovation
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA (April 18, 2008)—Fieldstone Alliance today announced that Tim Brostrom has become Director of Product Innovation. The new position is responsible for Fieldstone Alliance’s ongoing book and e-publishing, as well as the development of new products and distribution channels.
In this newly created position, Brostrom will develop a business strategy for product innovation and the transition of Fieldstone Alliance’s knowledge resources to the digital stream. He will develop resources to strengthen practice and performance in the nonprofit sector, and seek funders, partners, and authors who share Fieldstone Alliance’s goals and collaborative style.
Fieldstone Alliance president Carol Lukas said the organization sought Brostrom for his proven record in philanthropy and business and in print and web-based information dissemination. “Through our clients and friends, Fieldstone Alliance constantly uncovers practices that will strengthen nonprofits and foundations. These ideas deserve to reach more people. Tim will lead our work to capture, package, and disseminate innovations quickly and broadly. His exceptional combination of skills and experience will prove invaluable.”
Brostrom will also manage the Innovative Practice Fund, a designated pool of funds through the Kellogg Action Lab. These funds are being used to incubate new practices and strategic change among nonprofits. “It’s a rare opportunity,” says Brostrom. “There’s rich potential here. Nonprofits and foundations are creating countless new ways to serve society, and Fieldstone Alliance is uniquely positioned to nurture and spread those developments. We’ll find the very best innovations and make sure that all nonprofits can build on them.”
