About the Kellogg Action Lab

The Kellogg Action Lab (KAL) is a partnership between Fieldstone Alliance and The Nonprofit Finance Fund, made possible by a three-year grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. It is one of Fieldstone Alliance's demonstration projects.

Who is eligible to partcipate?

  • Kellogg Action Lab is designed for U. S. based W.K. Kellogg Foundation grantees
  • It is important that a participant’s grant be active sometime between January 1, 2007 and August 31, 2009 
  • If your organization fits both of these criteria, you are eligible to apply

Who are the providers of services?

What are the key benefits of Kellogg Action Lab?
Participating organizations may qualify for some or all of these benefits.

  • $750 for resources. Participants with annual operating budgets below $1 million receive $750 to purchase resources (books, conference registration fees, memberships, online resources, subscriptions, etc.) when they complete their registration forms.
  • Financial support to attend convenings (in-person trainings or webinars on organizational capacity sponsored by KAL). Participants with operating budgets of $1 million or less may receive a stipend of up to $500 per person for up to three persons to cover travel and lodging costs for a convening. Participants with operating budgets over $1 million may receive one stipend of up to $500 to cover costs.  
  • Financial support for consultations (organizational assessments, strategic planning, financial analysis, business planning, referrals for financing and capital resources). Participants may apply for a consultation (application available on the KAL participant-only website). After a screening process with KAL staff, participants may be awarded financial support for an agreed upon consultation. Upon award of a consultation, grantees will be asked to pay either $500 (organizations with operating budgets under $1 million) or $1500 (organizations with operating budgets over $1 millions).  KAL will pay the remainder of the cost of the consultation.
